Four Sundays before Lent
The four or sometimes five Sundays before Lent are one of the periods known as ‘ordinary time’. During ordinary time there is no seasonal emphasis – it is a time in the church’s calendar which allows for more continuous readings from the Bible, for the exploration of other themes such as creation and the environment, and for creative responses to saints’ days.
On Sunday 10th February – the fourth Sunday before Lent – we worship with a Sung Eucharist with hymns then on 17th February we are joined by the choir for Morning Prayer and Eucharist.
On 24th February we worship with a Said Eucharist and the final Sunday before Lent, 3rd March, is a Choral Eucharist. All our welcome – our services start at 14.30.
