Advent reflection day 4
Opening Prayer for each day
Lord of light and the darkness,
May your Spirit guide our preparations for Christmas.
Help us to seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day.
In our anxiety may we look forward to your coming among us and be blessed by the joy of your presence.
When we feel as if we are walking in darkness may we see your light as we say,
“Come, Lord Jesus!” Amen.
Psalm 118.22-24
Refrain: I will give thanks to you, for you have become my salvation.
The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes.
This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Jesus, the stone that was rejected, has become our cornerstone. Given us new birth, a day where the lost are found. God has brought to a new day that never ends.
Saving God,
open the gates of righteousness,
that your pilgrim people may enter
and be built into a living temple
on the cornerstone of our salvation,
Jesus Christ our Lord.

joyful in hope and constant in love.
