Advent reflection day 21

Opening Prayer

Lord of light and the darkness,
May your Spirit guide our preparations for Christmas.
Help us to seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day.
In our anxiety may we look forward to your coming among us and be blessed by the joy of your presence.
When we feel as if we are walking in darkness may we see your light as we say,
“Come, Lord Jesus!” Amen.

verses from Psalm 33

Refrain: The earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous, for it is good for the just to sing praises.
Praise the Lord with the lyre; on the ten-stringed harp sing his praise.
Sing for him a new song; play skilfully, with shouts of praise.
Let your loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, as we have set our hope on you.

Most mornings while writing I have Classic fm playing and listen to the Alexander Armstrong introduce some music that inspires. Amongst his choice is choral music singing praises

Feed your people, Lord,
with your holy word
and free us from the emptiness of our wrongful desires,
that we may sing the new song of salvation
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

May the God of peace make you completely holy, ready for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
