The Seventh Sunday after Trinty

Welcome to our online written service. This is our final written service before the summer break. Here you can join us for today’s prayers, Bible readings and music to enhance your home worship.

Let us start with a consideration of the words of St Francis of Assisi as we pray for peace in our world.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace)

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

The Intercessions

We thank you that you have claimed for yourself
those who have been washed in the waters of rebirth.
Uphold them in this new life,
that they may ever remain steadfast in faith,
joyful in hope, and rooted in your love.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Pour your blessing on all your people.
May our hearts ever praise you,
and find their perfect rest in you.
Grant us the freedom of your service
and peace in doing your will.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

The whole creation is filled with the light of your grace.
Dispel the darkness of our hearts, and forgive our sins
and negligences, that we may come at last to the light of your glory.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Reveal your kingdom among the nations;
may peace abound and justice flourish.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Send down upon us the gift of the Spirit
and renew your Church with power from on high.
Your name be hallowed.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Deliver the oppressed, strengthen the weak,
heal and restore your creation.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Rejoicing in the fellowship of the Church on earth,
we join our prayers with all the saints in glory.

Merciful Father,
accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
.

Final Hymn 186

Tell out, my Soul

.

Closing Prayers

Eternal God,
whose Son Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life:
grant us to walk in his way,
to rejoice in his truth,
and to share his risen life;
who is alive and reigns, now and for ever. Amen.

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
In the name of Christ. Amen.
